F.A.Q.

What can I expect when I arrive?

Our main Worship Service happens in the Worship Center. This is the large building to the west (see image).

As far as attire, you’re invited to wear what you're comfortable in, whether it’s in shorts or a suit. Our members and attendees tend to dress pretty casual.

We hope that you feel seen and you are invited to be known at AOC. We ask you to reach out to someone when you visit.  Most of all, we pray that you encounter Jesus through everything that we do.

We invite you to enjoy the beauty of our campus, connect with the people in our congregation, and explore other ways that you can engage at AOC.

Our purpose is to be a church that is Simply About Jesus and we want to help others to meet, to know, and to follow Him. When someone engages with Jesus, it changes everything.

Where should I go if I have Children?

If you have children from nursery - 5th grade, it would be best for you to arrive about 10 minutes early and park on the east side of the property where the "close children's parking" is located (see image).  This will allow you to have enough time to check-in your kid(s) and get them to their rooms. You can then move across the courtyard to the worship center.

If you have teenagers (6th - 12th grade) you can drop them off with our Student Ministry on the second floor of our Worship Center.  You can get to the second floor Student Ministry space by going through our main entrances into the Worship Center Foyer (which faces the courtyard).

Anytime you are confused, just look for someone with a name tag and they will help you get to where you are headed.

What is the Children's ministry like?

AO Kids is  what we call our children's ministry. Our desire is to make sure that every child can meet, know, and follow Jesus.  AO Kids is designed to make a big deal about Jesus in ways that children from nursery - 5th grade can understand.

We also hope to provide resources for parents so that families are equipped to disciple their children.  We believe that parents are the God-ordained primary disciplers of their children, and our job is to provide added support and to intentionally equip parents.

As such, children are always welcome in our worship service alongside their parents.

What is the Youth ministry like?

AO Students is what we call our youth ministry.  Our desire is to make sure that every student has the opportunity to meet, know, and follow Jesus.  AO Students engages teenagers from 6th - 12th grade to connect with Jesus in transformational ways.  The goal of AO Students is to invite passionate and qualified adult leaders to invest in the next generation and support parents as the primary disciplers of their teenagers.

Our Student Ministry has many activities throughout the year. Meeting in large groups on Sundays mornings (at 9am) and in smaller groups on Wednesday evenings (at 7pm), our desire is to see the next generation captivated by the person of Jesus Christ and compelled to love others with a Christ-like selflessness.
